BIONESIA (Biodiversitas Indonesia) is a Non Profit Foundation registered with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia No AHU-0025270.AH.01.04.Tahun 2015. BIONESIA is engaged in Research, Training and Conservation. Based in Denpasar-Bali and has a vision to promote the protection of Indonesia’s biodiversity through research and capacity building.Education, Research and Conservation have always been important aspects of biodiversity protection programs. This is also what underlies and motivates us to form BIONESIA. BIONESIA was officially established in November 2015 in Denpasar Bali. BIONESIA has been working with various universities, NGOs and governments to build a strong research culture, bridge international collaborations, build the capacity of young Indonesian researchers and provide scientific data to support sustainable biodiversity management.

While we currently focus on marine biodiversity, we hope to expand our focus to other topics in the future and we are open to collaborating locally and globally to support biodiversity conservation in Indonesia.
